However, what really is going on in your brain? Even though you could think you're connecting with a supernatural force, déjà vu is more of a psychological trick than a real phenomenon. Is it a brain glitch? Déjà vu occurs when the brain momentarily gets confused and thinks that a current experience is a memory. Some experts believe it happens because your brain is processing two pieces of information at once – one part of the brain is processing the moment in real-time, while another part registers it as a memory.
